On your child's phone
Grounded
Sets the rules and enforces them, even with no signal.
- Settings are locked behind your PIN
- Tells you if blocking gets switched off
- Also has a personal mode, for setting limits on yourself
For Android · in testing
Grounded blocks apps, sets daily limits and quiet hours, and filters websites. It keeps working offline, and once uninstall protection is on, it can't be removed without your PIN.

Grounded does the blocking on your child's phone. Grounded Parent App lets you check that it's working and change the rules from your own phone. The two are paired by scanning a QR code.

On your phone
Keeps you in touch with your child's phone from anywhere.
The rules
A blocked app shows a calm "Not right now" screen instead of opening.
Give any app a number of minutes per day. When they're used up, it's blocked until tomorrow.
Block or silence chosen apps at set times, such as school hours or after bedtime.
Block categories of websites or specific addresses, and turn on SafeSearch.
Stop new apps being installed without you knowing.
Uninstalling Grounded or changing its settings needs your PIN. Wrong guesses lock the keypad and alert you.
Personal mode
Grounded also works on your own phone. Choose personal mode when you set it up, and use the same app blocking, time limits, quiet hours and website blocking to cut back on your own screen time.
Testing
Grounded and Grounded Parent App are in testing on Google Play. Testers need an Android phone for their child, and an Android phone of their own for the parent app.
To join, email GroundedApp@outlook.com with the Google account you use on Play, and we'll send you an invite.
Privacy
Grounded has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Your child's rules and app usage stay on their phone, and anything sent to your phone is encrypted so only your two phones can read it.
